Peak Climbing/ Mountaineering

Nepal is the best place to experience the Peak Climbing or Mountaineering Adventure!

  • There are 14 snow capped peaks higher than 8000 meter.

  • There are 122 snow capped peaks higher than 7000 meter.

  • And there are 1400 snow capped peaks higher than 6000 meter.

Among them 53 snow capped peaks' Climbing Permits are granted by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). These peaks which are climbed under the permit management from the NMA; called the "Trekking Peaks".

Rest of all other peaks which are opened for climbing, permits are issued by the Ministry of Tourism of Nepal.

The Trekking Peaks are in between 5500 meter to 6500 meter high, so are less technical to climb. The climbing process doesn't require large scale logistics and equipment like it does for an 8000 meter peak climbing. Iceland Peak (6160m.), Mera Peak (6654m.), Kwangde Peak (6011m.), Pokhalde Peak (5806m.), Pharchemoche Peak ((6187m.), Pisang Peak (6091m.) etc. are the Trekking Peaks.

Mt. Everest (8850m.), Kanchanjunga (8586m.), Lhotse (8516m.), Amadablam (6812m.) Thamserku (6608m.) etc. are under non-trekking peaks whose climbing process is denoted by "Mountain Expedition".
